WDA Virtual Credentialing Tour
Doula Credentialing Town Halls: This Is Your Chance to Be Heard
Wisconsin is having important conversations about what doula credentialing could look like in our state — and doulas need to be part of that conversation from the very beginning.
The Wisconsin Doulas Association is hosting Credentialing Town Halls across the state, both in person and virtually, to hear directly from doulas about what matters to you.
These Town Halls are not about the WDA presenting a credentialing plan or asking doulas to approve a recommendation. We are gathering information, experiences, concerns, questions, and ideas from doulas across Wisconsin so that any future conversations about credentialing are informed by the people who would actually be impacted by it.
What should credentialing include? What should it not include? What barriers could it create? What protections or opportunities could it provide? How do we make sure experienced doulas, newer doulas, community-based doulas, independent doulas, and doulas from different training pathways all have a voice?
This is your chance. Show up. Ask questions. Share your concerns. Tell us what you want decision-makers to understand about being a doula in Wisconsin.
You do not need to be a WDA member to participate, and you do not need to come with all the answers. We want to hear from doulas with different backgrounds, experiences, training organizations, communities, and perspectives.
The WDA's role is simple: listen, gather, and make sure Wisconsin's doulas are represented in the conversations that may shape the future of our profession.
If credentialing could impact your work, your voice belongs in the room.
Come to a Credentialing Town Hall.
Because decisions about doulas should never happen without doulas.
